Attention, il s’agit la province d’Alicante SP donc bien plus au sud, ce qui pour nous, devrait impliquer un décalage # d’un mois. Avec les pièges * (chinois ?) dont nous espérons que vous êtes tous dotés, vérifiez qu’il n’y a plus de capture. Sinon, par précaution, appliquez ou faites appliquer une solution type goudron de cicatrisation et ou insecticide sur les bords de coupe. Bien désinfecter les outils, quand vous changez de stipes.

PRUNING of palm trees in Torrevieja, Costa Blanca South, has commenced as part of measures to control and eradicate the red palm weevil pest.
Work is starting in Paseo de los Conquistadores and will continue throughout the city until the end of February.
A Torrevieja spokesperson said anyone who fears palms in their garden have been infested, should contact the town hall where municipal technical services will advise on procedures.

Carmen Gómez Candel, Torrevieja’s Councillor for Parks and Gardens, announced that municipal teams are now pruning and treating the town’s palm trees in accordance with the guidelines laid out by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, which requires councils to carry out mandatory phytosanitary measures for the control and eradication of the pest "Rhynchophorus ferrugineus", the red palm weevil.
Work got underway last Monday and will continue until the end of February during which time the authorities will be required to carry out a number of road closures in the city, although she assures everyone that these will be kept to an absolute minimum. Ms Gomez said that the council will also be carrying out treatment against the red palm weevil to those palms which are in public ownership. She said that her staff are available to the owners of infected palms, and the Technical Team will provide advice and treatment in order to prevent and eradicate the plague of the red palm weevil in the city.
